Step 1:
First, start your Outlook 2002/XP and click on Tools and then Services.
This will bring up the window where email setup info can be entered.
Step 2:
On the Services window, if you don't see the Internet Mail
option, click Add and choose it. Then return to this window and choose
Properties to configure your settings.
Step 3:
Be sure to keep all your entries in lower case only (this isn't required
for the Full Name entry).
Full Name: Your real name (if you want to be identified)
E-Mail Address: Type your e-mail address here, eg. userID@avenue.org
Internet Mail Server: monticello.avenue.org
Account Name: Your Monticello Avenue User ID
Password: Your Monticello Avenue password
After making the entries as shown here, click on the ADVANCED OPTIONS to
make the entry for the Outgoing Mail Server, which is monticello.avenue.org
For the Internet Mail Server setting, enter monticello.avenue.org
To set up SSL
1.
Open Outlook
2.
Click on the “Tools” menu and then click on the “Email Accounts”
option.
3.
Select the option “View or change existing email accounts”
4.
Click the “Next” button.
5.
Select your Monticello Avenue account and click the “Change” button.
6.
On the right hand side under “Server Information”
7.
Check that the “Incoming mail server (POP3)” is monticello.avenue.org
8.
Change the “Outgoing mail server (SMTP) to monticello.avenue.org
9.
Click on the “More Settings” button in the bottom right corner.
10.
Click on the “Outgoing Server” tab.
11.
Make sure that the following settings are selected:
“My outgoing server (SMTP) requires
authentication”
“Use the same settings as my incoming mail
server”
12.
Click on the “Advanced” tab.
13.
Make sure the following option is set:
Both instances of “This server requires a
secure connection (SSL)” needs to be selected.
14.
Click the “OK” button
15.
Click the “Next” button
16.
Click the “Finish” button
17.
Click on the “Close” button |
