Dare to pray!
How many of us dare to step out of the comfort zone to pray with someone?It can be someone we know from church who pours out her heart to us in grief or trouble. It could be a stranger we sit next to on the plane or in some public place. It could be a telemarketer that we wanted to slam down the phone on but God prompted us to reach out with His love.
You cannot be unlike me! Whenever I am about to say, “May I pray with you?” my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth as I stammer the words… Even here, in a Christian workplace, my heart tells me to go ahead and pray, but my mouth does not want to open.
Yet I find that the more I risk praying with others, day after day, the easier it gets. No, my prayers do not sound “professional” and I am just as much a klutz, but my heart soars with the eagles in God’s presence. I recommend this to you -- try it!!
