Membership/Transfer

Membership:

Membership is open to all adults for a one-time fee ($35 individual, $40 family).  There are more than 150 memorial societies in the U.S. and Canada.  Your membership in FISP is transferable at any time, with rights of reciprocity. New members receive an information packet, including:

1)      Dealing Creatively with Death:  A Manual of Death Education and Simple Burial – covers many aspects of dying and death arrangements.

2)      A funeral planning kit, Before I Go, for each enrolled family member to help make final plans, including Virginia’s Advance Medical Directive form.

3)     Up-to-date information – area funeral home costs and organ donation and anatomical gift information.

4)    The most recent FISP newsletter.

5)  The most recent survey of local funeral and cremation costs.

Simply put, FISP members of all ages and at all stages of life benefit from accurate, unbiased, and easily accessible information for themselves and their families.
