Welcome to Monticello Avenue, a community information
network located in Charlottesville, Virginia. The project is dedicated to promoting civic use of
the World Wide Web by:

- Assisting community organizations in establishing Web pages

- Educating community members about the resources available
|
- Organizing the growing amount of electronic community information
|
You can learn about our community's government services, school activities and
educational opportunities, local businesses, cultural events, health and human service
organizations, neighborhood associations and religious groups.
Monticello Avenue is jointly supported by the City of Charlottesville, the County of
Albemarle, and the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library. The
server is housed in the Central branch of the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library.
Non-profit organizations in Albemarle or Charlottesville are eligible for free space on
the community information server, free email, free training, and even limited free dial-in
access to the Internet. Check out the online information or contact
the Coordinator, for details on how your
non-profit organization can establish a website on Monticello Avenue.
Public Internet access is available through computers on the mezzanine of the Central
Library in downtown Charlottesville and at branches of Jefferson-Madison
Regional Library .
